Which Is Better???

Now, I know what you are thinking: "Why would you ask us that? The two have nothing in common!" And you would be correct. I mean one is about magic, and the other is about average kids. One is a Fantasy novel, and the other is a Dystopian Future Where Teens Kill Each Other To Appease The Leaders Of The Country novel. How could they be related?

Well, what you may not know is that these two series' are consistently rated as two of the best Young Adult series. And since both are at the top of the list, why not figure out if there is a winner among the two?

On the one hand, you have a series that has been out since the 90's and has only grown more and more as the years pass. A story about an orphan who discovers he has magical powers that make him extraordinary in a world where he feels less than loved and appreciated. Meeting people from all over with varied backgrounds and histories, making lasting friendships with kooky characters, and fighting an evil wizard bent on destroying the majority of the population of the world... what more can you ask for really?

On the other hand, you have a series that spans a much shorter timeframe and has fewer books, but involves a world rich in intrigue, danger, and misfortune. You have a girl who will stop at nothing to protect her family and do what she can to help the population of her home and all the Districts in Panem. A girl who beats the odds and wins the Hunger Games, falling in love despite herself, and manages to rally the people of a war torn country into joining a cause that at first seemed daunting and hopeless. In short, a story of a strong female who does what she needs to in order to survive... sign me up!

So how can we choose between these two amazing series? Do we even need to? Can't we just have both? Absolutely we can! Both are amazing book series written by two incredible authors. Both have strong characters that you can connect with. Both have plots that make us bite our nails with anxiety, and fist pump with joy and triumph when the good guys win a victory.

I think, when you have two amazing books/series like we have here, the only thing to do is to say, "Yes, please!" And wouldn't you know, but we have copies of both series at all our locations, so if you haven't give these a try yet, be sure and check them out!
